Regina Harris

Regina "Reg" Harris, B.A., earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts from California State University, Fresno, in Fall of 2012. Regina worked as the Lighting and Sound Technician for the CSU, Fresno Theatre Arts Department and is currently a 3rd year MFA Lighting Design graduate at Northwestern University. Her design credits span various modes of theatrical storytelling, including new plays, musical theater, dance, experimental theater, stage readings, and opera.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay area, Regina's family attended ballets, musicals, and operas across a variety of venues including The Paramount Theater, The Orpheum Theater, and The Golden Gate Theater. The first show that sparked an interest in her live theater journey was viewing The Nutcracker as a young girl, at the Paramount Theater. She continued to attend many theatrical productions with her family over the years; from the spectacular artistry and puppetry of Broadway's The Lion King, to the fun jazzy mystery of Chicago, she knew that she wanted to be a part of it all.

Reg began her personal theater journey in high school as an actress. When she joined the theatre community at Fresno State, she quickly realized that her passion for theatre was behind the scenes as a lighting designer. When she finally got her bearings as a designer, she branched out and honed her skills in sound and lighting design for companies and venues in the community. In doing so, she began to expand into other avenues such as being a present and active member in the creation of a non-profit organization known as The Fools Collaborative. She was previously a board member and active designer for the group. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in stage design with a discipline in lighting design.

Her work has appeared in many venues including California State University, Fresno's John Wright Theater (Fresno), The Dennis & Cheryl Woods Theatre (Fresno), The Vista Theater (Fresno), The Selma Art Center (Selma), The California Arts Academy Severance Theater (Fresno), The Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall (Clovis), The Dan Pessano Theater (Clovis), Hal & Martha Hyer Wallis Theater (Evanston), The Ethel M. Barber Theater (Evanston), and The Josephine Louis Theater (Evanston) .
